A Rainy Day in NYC ☔ Jazz Playlist for Focus, Work & Slow Moments

There are certain kinds of days in New York City that don’t ask much from you. Rainy days are like that. The city is still moving, still loud in its own way, but softened at the edges — like everything has been turned down just one notch.

This playlist came from one of those afternoons.

I filmed it on a rainy spring day in NYC, standing at a street corner watching people pass by with umbrellas, reflections stretching across the pavement, and that quiet in-between energy that only shows up when the weather interrupts the usual rhythm of the city.

It wasn’t planned too much. It was just one of those moments that felt like it already had its own atmosphere, and I wanted to keep it.

Here’s the full video — best experienced as background while you work, study, read, or just move through your day slowly.

For work, focus, or slowing down a little

This is a jazz-inspired, dreamy, relaxed playlist made for those in-between moments — when you’re working but not rushing, studying but also daydreaming, reading but occasionally staring out the window for a second longer than planned.

I’ve always loved music like this because it doesn’t demand attention. It just sits quietly in the background and makes whatever you’re doing feel a little softer, a little more intentional.

And honestly, I think we all need more of that — especially in seasons where everything feels like it’s moving too fast.

If you enjoyed this playlist, you can find more NYC moments and videos on my channel — I’m always sharing small pieces of the city and the moods it creates.

And I’d love to know:
what are you working on today?

See you in the next one 🤍
